The Dene First Nation shares a traditional story that tells of an Arctic fox that saves The People from starvation by bringing them caribou. An alert arctic ( or ) happily lives near the peaceful North Pole. Accustomed to cold weather, the wonderful wild canine enjoys a wintery home. Lovingly carved from fish rock serpentine by Eli Cheama, an adorable nose and eyes are from jet inlays. A cozy fur coat is achieved by intricate etching. Sometimes arctic foxes will follow a hunting polar bear in hopes of an easy meal from nutritious leftovers. Roughly 2 3/8" long, 1 1/8" wide and 1 1/8" tall.
